| I just made some renovations to my tank. Here it is: (Sorry, I accidentally deleted the "Before" picture) And here is a close-up of the substrate: Do I have enough Eco-Earth mixed with the sand? | |

| Looks right to me. Have you covered the screen? Is the saltwater dish deep enough for him to submerge himself? | |

| Thanks. I completely covered the screen this morning and left a hole about the size of the lamp. Yes, the saltwater dish is the deep ramekin in front, and I tested it by putting him in. I'm concerned about the shallow freshwater dish in the back. I tested it and he is only partially submerged. | |

| Yesterday I was feeding him a bit of fish, so I lifted the lid a bit and the fixture slid off and fell on the floor. The bulb wasn't broken, but it didn't work anymore, so I used a normal 60 watt bulb instead. It was considerably warmer and his tank is now at 82 degrees. He seems pretty happy! | |

| Uh, now it's at 86 degrees and rising, and that's at the middle of the tank. Is that a problem? | |

| Maybe. Do you turn it off at night? Keep an eye on it,make sure it gets no higher than 88. If it is still a problem cut your plastic warp back about 2" from the lamp and see if that helps. | |

| See if that helps, if its too cold roll more towards the lamp, if too hot, roll more away. | |

| Actually, the caresheet says 80 to 90 degrees is right for him (though too high for my PPs). | |

| Okay. So could you keep PPs and Es in the same tank? | |
